Psalm 116:12 – 14
“12 What shall I render to the Lord
for all his benefits to me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
and call on the name of the Lord,
14 I will pay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.”
Today we observe Christ’s institution of Holy Communion. This Sacrament combines God’s Word with bread/body and wine/blood to forgive our sins, strengthen and renew our faith.
We use this occasion to welcome new communicants to the Lord’s Table with us for their first communion. We rejoice at this cornerstone of their faith, which affirms their commitment to Christ, the foundation of our faith. Together with saints around the world, we sing praises to God for this beneficial gift. Amen.
