Horn for His People

He has raised up a horn for His people, praise for all His saints, for the people of Israel who are near to Him. Praise the Lord! (Psalm 148:14)

This "horn," a reference to a horn that calls the people's attention, usually in battle, is a reference to Christ. Christ will call us to God and redeem us in this earthly struggle from sin, Satan, and death. It is a battle in many ways. Christ is our battle horn, call us to praise God over all the earth and all that dwells in it.

Gracious God, we give thanks for all you have done for us. Prepare us for worship today by giving us time to think about all you have done. Fix our hearts and minds on Christ Jesus. Amen.
