My Help Comes from the Lord; A Song of Ascents.
1 I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Along the journey to Jerusalem, it may be possible to feel overwhelmed. A pilgrimage takes time and trouble may find us along the way. The psalmist today expresses need for help. Where does his help come from as he looks up toward Jerusalem? God.
Where do we look when we seek God’s will in our lives? Down. Down in reverence when we pray and down to read His Word. Like the psalmist, we seek God in our daily walk through His Word.
We pray: Gracious God, to whom shall we turn? You have the words of eternal life. Amen.
