FaceTime with Others Week 2

Feb 8, 2026    Eric Hiner

This powerful message from 1 Corinthians 2 confronts us with a radical truth: God's wisdom looks like foolishness to the world, yet it illuminates the only path worth taking. We're presented with a striking image of two roads—one dimly lit by human understanding, appearing safe but hiding pitfalls, and another completely dark until God's light reveals it as the magnificent path it truly is. The sermon challenges our natural tendency to seek wisdom everywhere except where it actually resides—in Christ crucified. In our information-saturated age, we have access to more knowledge than any generation in history, yet all our libraries and search engines cannot answer life's deepest questions. The liberating message here is that true wisdom isn't discovered through intellect or education—it's revealed by the Spirit of God. This means the most learned scholar and the simplest child stand on equal ground before God's truth. We're reminded that when we proclaim the gospel, our weaknesses, failures, and lack of worldly wisdom don't disqualify us—they actually showcase God's glory more brightly. The call is clear: know nothing except Christ crucified, and let that simple, profound truth transform how we live and what we share with others.
