Loving the World

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

Yesterday, we lit the "love" candle as we completed the fourth candle of the Advent wreath. Thus far, we've lit hope, peace, joy, and now love. Love being the last before Christmas, the center candle. Love being the greatest of these, because at Christmas, God will make his love known to all men.

[Jesus said:] “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

Pray with me: Gracious God, Heavenly Father, Make known to the world your love you showed through your Son, Jesus Christ. In him do we have true hope, peace and joy. Through your love, do we have eternal life with you. In Christ's name, Amen.
