A note from Emily Boggs
Home is where the heart is.
Home can be any place and anywhere. My church home, Hope Lutheran, is where my heart is. It is where I have grown to learn who I am and what I will become.
In the years I have attended Hope Lutheran, I have accomplished many things and learned my calling to help others. At Lubbock Impact, I enjoy collecting and finding supplies for the less fortunate. In addition my service to others through the years have grown to a larger scale. In 2015, I received my calling on my mission trip to New Mexico. My task included setting up for a vacation bible school program for the children in the area. It was an eye-opening experience to see how other communities differed from my own and the relationships I established with these children made me realize my destine to impact the lives of others.
Without these experiences, I would not be the person I am today. My faith has challenged me to impact the world. Whether it be at school or work, I want to change a persons life for the better. Going out and simply taking the time to help and love others who need to be cared for, can make such a big impact in their lives.
"For even the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give his life as a ransom for many." - Mark 10:45
